Lights, Camera, Action

Extra-curricular clubs are a key part of Heywood’s culture. Each week, we run 38 clubs for main school, covering a variety of interests.

New to Heywood this term is Photography Club, during which pupils produced some beautiful images of the peacocks in the grounds last week. They put their focusing skills to the test and took some beautiful colourful images and some really amazing silhouettes of the peacocks and trees in the warm light as the sun set. Next week they will be under their cloaks with box cameras on tripods as the sun sets! They will be using the pinhole box cameras that they made to explain how a camera works and what the shutter and aperture do.

This club is a really wonderful opportunity for our children. We are thrilled to have Mr Auckland’s expertise to lead the club; if you wish to see more of the children’s work, please click here.
