Drama – Lesley Bolt
Lesley Bolt has a lifelong passion for Drama. She is a valued member of the Mid Somerset Speech and Drama Committee and loves developing children’s confidence through Drama. Lessons are mainly tuition towards LAMDA Exams, where children perform poetry and extracts from stories and plays so learning to speak clearly and expressively. Vocal – Kelly Appleby
Vocal lessons offer children to really develop their voice, performance confidence and knowledge of music without needing to invest in an instrument! Kelly Appleby’s broad training has led her to perform at the Royal Albert Hall, train vocalists in west end musicals as well as helping hundreds of pupils gain ABRSM certificates to be proud of. Woodwind – Lewis Evans
We are delighted to introduce Lewis Evans to our team who has just launched lessons in flute, clarinet and saxophone. Lewis can help children source a hired instrument and can teach children to learn for fun or for ABRSM Grades. Children who learn a woodwind instrument will have the opportunity to hire an instrument should you not want to purchase one straight away. Gary Lucas offers both rock and classical guitar lessons. Gary is a professional guitarist who is a regular performer himself. Pupils will get the opportunity to learn songs they love or work towards an ABRSM grade. Younger pupils may choose to start on a smaller ukulele. Johas been teaching piano for nearly 30 years – both at another prep school and in a college as well as private lessons in her own home. She completed a music degree at Bristol University followed by an ALCM diploma and more recently the Piano Teachers’ Course run jointly by EPTA (European Piano Teachers Association) and the Purcell School. Jo has an incredible pass rate with ABRSM grades and thoroughly enjoys teaching children and is excited about joining the Heywood team.
