Riding the Waves in Year Two

Year 2 have jumped into action with their new topic this term – Riding the Waves. It all started with an unusual arrival of a message in a bottle from a pirate which washed up upon the shores of Heywood Island. This week we have played an alternative version of Twister to consolidate our knowledge of the seven continents and five oceans which had us in fits of giggles. We have been reading a variety of fiction and non-fiction books based on this topic and we have shared new facts with our friends. We have even had a go at speaking ‘pirate’ in honour of International Talk Like a Pirate Day.
