Introducing our new Peripatetic Piano and Singing Teacher

We are very pleased to announce the appointment of Julia O’Connor, as our peripatetic piano and singing teacher. Julia will begin her journey with us in the summer term, teaching one-to-one lessons with children of all ages and abilities to boost the huge musical success at Heywood Prep.

Julia received a music degree from the University of York and has studied with the English National Opera.

Julia also brings with her a wealth of experience including singing extensively on the stage in operas, choirs and smaller ensembles. As a Grade 8 pianist and accompanist, Julia has taught from beginner level to Diploma with a 100% pass success rate.

Music has been a passion for Julia since she was a young child, and as a mother of 3 young children has a strong understanding of what young children need in order to reach their full potential and believes in the importance of developing correct technique from a young age.

Peripatetic music lessons are a fantastic opportunity to learn skills for life and to gain qualifications along the way; we are excited to see Julia apply her passion and enthusiasm to this important provision.
