Heywood for Hedgehogs!

Heywood pupils have been lucky enough to take part in a number of activities as part of Corsham’s StoryTown writing festival.

Gillian Sanders from the local council spoke to the whole school recently about Hedgehogs; the fact they are in decline, and how we can make our environment more supportive to them.

Marnie Forbes-Eldridge (Associate Director of Prime Theatre and former practitioner with the RSC) led interactive workshops with Years 3 and 4 in which they each planed and started writing their hedgehog stories.

Marnie Forbes Eldrige returned to Heywood earlier today to listen to some of the stories and poems and to announce the winners. We’re delighted to reveal that two of our pupils were winners in the competition! Both writers will have their work displayed in the Sanders Gallery in Corsham as part of StoryTown, and will also be able to claim a prize kindly donated by the gallery.

We are extremely grateful to Corsham Town Council, Gillian Sanders, The Sanders Gallery and Marnie Forbes Eldridge for providing this exciting opportunity for our pupils.
