8Cs in 3D

Year 3 have been having an ‘a-Maze-ing’ time in Computer Science this term, designing and printing their very own ball bearing mazes.

Pupils have spent time learning about the additive manufacturing (3D printing) process, including how this technology is changing many industries, as well as using online CAD software to create their own designs.

Creativity in design, Commitment to checking intricate details and Craftsmanship applying fantastic IT skills were essential to create a successful project.

An early introduction to this technology and development of these skills is vital for our young learners who will go on to apply these in more advanced projects throughout their time at Heywood Prep in Computer Science and STEAM lessons.
