Wigwam opening Year Round from January 2010 - For details please go to 'Latest News'
Welcome to the Wigwam Nursery page. We hope you will find it useful and informative.
At Wigwam, we believe the importance of children's first years in school cannot be over-emphasised. These first years will almost certainly influence their long term attitude towards learning.
Our aim at Wigwam is to create a warm, caring environment; an extension of the child's home. Teaching groups are small, with the emphasis on developing the individual within the framework of the group. This helps to promote learning and also enables them to mature into loving, thoughtful individuals.
As we develop the curriculum and activities appropriate for these very young children, we aim to meet the needs of each individual child. High standards of care and learning are consistently achieved by participation in the EEL Quality Assurance Scheme for the Early Years.
The Nursery and Its Facilities
Wigwam is securely situated within the attractive grounds of Heywood Preparatory School, in Corsham.
The main nursery building is home to three groups of children; Cubs, Fawns and Ponies. An adjoining building is home to Bambis, the toddler unit. All the class rooms in the nursery are appointed to a high standard and are well equipped.
In addition to these facilities in the nursery, the children have the use of the Main School Hall for PE and Music. They also have access to two walled gardens, a large lawn area and two tarmac areas, providing ample scope for outdoor activities.
