KS2 MATERNITY COVER - APRIL 2017 START
Due to maternity leave, we invite applications from high-quality and experienced candidates for the role of Key Stage 2 Teacher and Form Tutor for Year 3, who have the passion, motivation and drive to contribute further to standards of excellence across the school community.
This is a temporary contract, and the role requires the flexibility to offer one-to-one learning support alongside a 50% teaching timetable.
DIRECTOR OF STUDIES - SEPTEMBER 2017 START
For September 2017, Heywood Prep seeks an experienced, well-qualified prep-, primary- or senior school-trained, Director of Studies. The school sees this appointment as an exciting opportunity to review the academic direction of the school and the academic processes in all areas.
We are therefore inviting applications from high quality candidates for the role of Director of Studies.
We offer a broad curriculum that we aspire to deliver through the highest standards of teaching. We want children to take risks in the classroom, not to be afraid of getting it wrong, and be confident enough to ask questions and think for themselves. All children have talents and gifts, both in and out of the classroom, and we are always looking to identify and celebrate these at every opportunity. We want to develop creative thinkers.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the ability to lead and manage the staff in all academic aspects of school life, reporting directly to the Headmaster. He/she will be taking over a successful area of the school which received good comments during the last inspection and provides a strong base on which to build for the next five years. The successful candidate will also work closely with Wishford’s Director of Education.
HEAD OF ENGLISH - SEPTEMBER 2017 START
The school has gone through a rapid period of growth and investment in the past five years and as a result, we are operating waiting lists in several year groups. Following this successful expansion, we are looking to further raise our standards and curriculum offering. We invite applications from high-quality and experienced candidates for the role of English Subject Co-ordinator, who have the passion, motivation and leadership qualities to drive change in their subject area across the school community.
PE AND GAMES CO-ORDINATOR - SEPTEMBER 2017 START
For September 2017, Heywood Prep seeks an experienced, well-qualified primary or secondary trained teacher of PE and Games. The school sees this appointment as an exciting opportunity to review the teaching of PE and Games. This post is a not Form Tutor role and the candidate is expected to be a PE and Games specialist.
The successful candidate will also sit on the School Management Team and play an important role in implementing the school development plan, and will assist with the smooth running of the school. This post would be ideal for a candidate who wishes to move on to Deputy Headship or other leadership roles in the future.
COMPUTER SCIENCE CO-ORDINATOR - SEPTEMBER 2017 START
For September 2017, Heywood Prep seeks an experienced, well-qualified primary trained teacher of Computer Science. The school sees this appointment as an exciting opportunity to review the teaching of ICT, Computer Science and Digital Learning throughout the school.
The school is actively exploring opportunities to increase the provision for coding and digital learning across the school, alongside the existing development of digital literacy and awareness of online safety. We are looking for a lead teacher who will not only deliver excellence in the classroom but who will also inspire our pupils to develop their own passions for the digital world.
